Ms. Maryam Junaidu is an avid supporter for youth development with a special interest in females. She is a certified Statistician with a Bsc from Alhikmah University, Ilorin, Nigeria. She pursued her passion for community and youth development since she was 18 and studying to be a Statistician.
She is recognized as an emerging woman leader with the courage and passion to lead change in the African continent. She has a strong commitment to education, women economic empowerment and leadership. Ms Junaidu has a strong interest in re-defining Africa’s growth and development to create a conducive and inclusive world for women.
Previously, Ms Junaidu worked as the Head of Gender at Youngstars Development Initiative where she was exposed to creating change at local and international level with the support from organisations like Ford Foundation, USAID, UKAID, UN Women, World Movement for Democracy, National Democratic Institute (NDI), National Endowment for Democracy (NED) among others.
Her expertise includes a unique experience in public communication, gender development, youth mentorship, advancement and youth leadership which has enabled her design and execute effective strategies on various projects and programs.
